Tomorrow is the day…
So tomorrow the NFL will hold its annual draft, and as I mentioned in the last post its like Christmas for a nerd like me. I wil be joined tomorrow night at 7:30 PM with my fellow co-hosts Jon Olson, Ken Costlow, and Eliot “Big E” Lomba for a live draft show covering the first ten picks in the NFL Draft.
Before I promote that further, though there was some other news in the NFL today. The Carolina Panthers traded Teddy Bridgewater to the Denver Broncos for a 6th round draft pick in this year’s draft. This addresses the QB needs for the Broncos, who before the trade already had three QB’s on the roster, Brett Rypien, the son of former WFT Super Bowl winning QB Mark Rypien, Jeff Driskel, and last years starter Drew Lock. Despite this it still appears that the Broncos may still be in the market to draft a QB in this years draft with the 9th pick overall. My feelings are that Bridgewater is a bridge to the Broncos QB of the future and that 2 of the three remaining QB’s on the roster are destined to be released or traded by the beginning of the season, to include Drew Lock. GM John Elway has a history of swinging and missing when it comes to picking a QB in the draft, so tomorrow night will show exactly how much he has learned from past mistakes in picking that position in the draft. NFL Nation reporters, among others have the Broncos selecting Trey Lance with their 9th pick, but other have them going defense. Either way, this trade the day before the draft adds even more intrigue to tomorrow’s festivities and also adds drama, something the NFL loves.
On to more important matters… As mentioned above, the Sports Nerds will be live broadcasting the first 10 picks of the NFL Draft in real time tomorrow night at 7:30 pm on Facebook, Twitch, Vimm.tv, and Twitter. We have had Live Draft shows over the last several years and this year is the first time we will be broadcasting the Draft over this many platforms. It plans to be a lot of fun, with real time reaction and commentary on all 10 picks. Please plan to join us, we wil be interacting real time with all viewers in real time and encourage you to participate and provide reactions to the picks as well as predict what will come next.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow night!!!!
